The rosary developed gradually in Christian tradition.
Early Christians used pebbles or knotted ropes to count repetitive prayers.
Historically, the rosary allowed people to recite the entire book of Psalms.
Typically, the psalms were divided into a cycle of 10 psalms a day said over 15 days.
Today, the Rosary replaces the 150 psalms with a single prayer on each of 150 beads.
In Christian tradition the prayers are in groups of 10 arranged thematically.
A rosary can have as few as three themes, or as many as fifteen themes.
Themes can be said daily, or all in one day. Typically, one theme is said per day
for as many as three days per week. A devotion can require three themes per day
for as many as five days. A particular devotion can prescribe an order of prayer.

The Prophetic Rosary Concerns Itself with the Promises of Jesus
The prophetic rosary is a Christian prayer practice that blends the traditional structure of the Rosary with a focus on prophecy, personal revelation, and inspired prayer. It encourages a deeper connection with the Holy Spirit, inviting prophetic insight or divine guidance through prayer. This form of prayer may include speaking in tongues or other inspired forms of prayer while meditating on the beads. The goal is to remain open to God’s voice and seek a personal relationship with Him, asking for specific prophetic insights that relate to one’s current circumstances, mission, or calling.

The Holy Spirit is Like the Wind, Jn, 3:8
The Psalter Rosary invites participants to meditate on the Psalms from The Book of Psalms as the central part of the prayer. Using traditional rosary beads, it involves reciting five decades, each dedicated to a different Psalm. As with the regular Rosary, prayers like the Our Father and Hail Mary are recited, but the focus is placed on the statement of the Psalm. Each Psalm is a reflection of praise, petition, thanksgiving, or lament, which expresses a wide range of human emotions and spiritual states. The Psalter Rosary touches on an ancient practice that helps deepen one’s relationship with God and enhances personal reflection.

The Confraternity of the Rosary Prayer is from a prayer fellowship stewarded by the Dominican Order of the Catholic Church. Membership is open to non-Catholics and invites participants to share spiritually in the prayers and good works of Confraternity members around the world. Those enrolled may hold in faith the spiritual benefits traditionally associated with the Dominican practice of praying the Rosary. Members commit to praying one full Rosary—or five decades—at least once each week.
